A modern hybrid breed, developed in the 1960s by crossing a domestic cat with a wild Asian Leopard Cat (ALC). The goal was to create a cat with the ALC's exotic, spotted appearance and a domestic temperament (must be at least four generations removed from the ALC for most registries).

Personality: Highly energetic, intelligent, and confident. They are social and interactive but are demanding of attention and require extensive playtime and mental stimulation. They often display dog-like behaviors, such as playing fetch. Quirks: Love water, climbing, and perching at high vantage points. They are athletic and agile. Care: Need lots of vertical space (tall cat trees) and enrichment. Training (clicker/target) is highly recommended to curb boredom and focus their energy. Best for: Active, experienced owners who can dedicate significant time to play and interaction. Not a low-energy companion.
