Personality: The most intelligent parrot species, often displaying the cognitive ability of a 5-year-old child. Can be sweet and affectionate but are often sensitive and need mental stimulation. They may become "one-person" birds. Noise: Not known as loud screamers, but they are great mimics of speech and household sounds (alarms, phones, etc.) and can be very persistent. Care: Require a wealth of puzzle and foraging toys to challenge their high intelligence. Prone to feather plucking if bored or stressed. Lifespan: 40 to 60 years in captivity.
